Atlas is a component based system. The components are divided based on business logic and each represents a set of plugins that correspond to the layers described in the previous section. The various plugin types are described in the next section. The plugin based architecture provides the system with greater modularity and better reusability. Also, it is easier to isolate and fix problems in the product. Another key feature of the system is its scalability. For each new domain built using Atlas, a new database is created. This allows the system to be enlarged in order to accommodate a greater amount of work done.
